About this Office:

This office is committed to working in close collaboration with key community agencies. It represents the Elmont Union Free School District at Civic, Chamber of Commerce and Library meetings to keep involved on local issues.

A partnership has been developed with local businesses to afford students the opportunity to gain information about future employment choices. The business owners speak with students and invite them to their facilities to experience hands-on demonstrations of trades and professions.

Intergenerational Read-A-Thons are scheduled. Veterans, Franklin Hospital and Senior Citizens are invited to read to our students and tell stories of their past experiences. The students show their appreciation and respect by performing for them.

At various times throughout the year the students gather to march in local parades to represent the district.

A variety of parent workshops are scheduled to keep families up-to-date on important topics related to school and community issues.

The Office of Special Assistant for Community Affairs welcomes all new and former Elmont families and tries to be of assistance with translations, registration, social service information and any other general concerns or needs individual families request assistance for.

" Mrs. DeBartolo is always proud of the Elmont community and was very honored to be the Grand Marshal at the 2010 Memorial Day Parade."
