Transportation Policy
Children in grades K-3 will be given bus riding privileges if they live a 1/2 mile or more from school.

Children in grades 4-6 will be given bus riding privileges if they live 1 mile or more from school.

Bus riders must use assigned buses and bus stops. Students who are entitled to ride a school bus and choose not to do so can lose their bus riding privileges.

Disruptive behavior affecting safety can result in the loss of bus riding privileges.

Private or Parochial School Transportation
Requests for transportation for K-6 children in private or parochial schools must be submitted by April 1st for the school year beginning in September. Late requests cannot be considered, except for new residents who must apply within 30 days of establishing residence. For additional information, please feel free to call the Transportation Office.

PRIVATE OR PAROCHIAL SCHOOL CHILDREN MAY STILL RECEIVE TRANSPORTATION TO SCHOOL WHEN THE ELMONT UFSD IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED DUE TO A RECESS OR HOLIDAY.

For bus and bus-stop rules, bus dismissal guidelines, and babysitting requests, please go to the Parents & Students page.
