Dear Dutch Broadway family:
“Children are messages we send to a time we may never see.”
Welcome to the Dutch Broadway School family! On behalf of the faculty and staff, I’d like to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year and hope that your years with us will be rewarding for your child. You as parents and we as teachers have a mutual obligation to help our children prepare themselves for a wonderful future.
This year we will be working diligently in an effort to continuously improve the quality of your child’s education. We are proud to have you as partners in this process; I know that we will enjoy a positive and successful relationship. As the year progresses and you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to call the school and talk with those who might be of help. If your question deals with in-class events, please speak with the teacher. If it deals with an overall program, please call me, Mrs. Donoghue or Mr. Alfieri.
Classes commence at 8:35 AM and dismissal occurs at 2:55 PM daily. If your child rides a school bus, be sure that you know his/her bus color. Place the bus pass in an easily accessible zipper compartment in their school bag. Encourage your walker to go directly home after school is dismissed. Students will not be permitted to remain on school grounds directly after school unless supervised by their parent/guardian.
We are happy to welcome back our continuing students and extend a warm welcome to those that are new. We want to assure you that we will do our best to help your child experience academic, social and emotional growth.
*New this year* - All students grades 3-6 will be utilizing iPads this year as we continue our district technology initiative. We are proud and excited to have another tool as we prepare our children for adulthood in the 21st Century.
Finally, congratulations to our Dutch Broadway PTA for once again being named a State PTA School of Excellence 2018-2020!
Thank you and see you on the playground!
