WELCOME BACK TO THE PRIDE for the 2019-2020 school year! Dutch Broadway Elementary School is one of six elementary schools in the Elmont Union Free School District. We have a student population of about 780 students in grades Pre-K through 6 and maintain a strong reputation among elementary schools in the county. As parents and teachers have a mutual obligation to help our children prepare themselves for a wonderful future.
Talented, supportive teachers and a highly effective support staff maintain a positive learning environment and provide students with the education they need for the 21st century. Our superb instructional program is aligned to the NY State Learning Standards and we are proud of our achievements and the progress we’ve made thus far.
All students enjoy weekly classes in Art, General Music, Library, Physical Education and Computers. Academic support is provided in Reading and Math; special support is also provided for students who require it during the school day. Afterschool and morning support is also offered long with a host of special activities, including, but not limited to:
*National Red Ribbon Week
*Math Olympiads/Math League
*Model United Nations
*New York State PTA Reflections Contest
*New York State PTA Pick a Reading Partner Program
We realize the importance of parental involvement in our school and enjoy a dedicated PTA that dedicates their time and talent to our learning community. The PTA sponsors regular family events and programs throughout the year; please join! A huge CONGRATULATIONS also goes out to our PTA on again being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellent for 2018-2020!
We are happy to welcome back our continuing students and extend a warm welcome to those that are new. See you on the playground!
