Alden Terrace wins bronze in dance competition

Alden Terrace School fourth grade scholars took their newly acquired ballroom dancing skills on the road when they competed at the Dancing Classrooms of Long Island’s Nassau Spring Colors of the Rainbow Team Match on May 30. The team-based competition and community celebration was for children who participated in the 10-week, 20-lesson residency program Dancing Classrooms: Creating Connections, Inspiring Confidence during the 2018-19 school year.

Student-dancers from Alden Terrace’s team Indigo was among 84 elementary youngsters representing seven schools from across Long Island in the competition. The students danced their way to a bronze award. Principal Shawnée Warfield and Assistant Principal Dr. Wellinthon Garcia attended the competition with the students and commended them on their hard work, dedication and exquisite dancing abilities. Teacher Mr. Terence Lewis was also in attendance. Mr. Lewis reviewed the dance steps with the students and helped them prepare for the competition. Congratulations!
