Gotham Avenue kindergartners perform
Surrounded by their teachers and loved ones, Gotham Avenue School kindergartners ended the school year with a wonderful musical performance.
The youngsters were all dressed up when they made their way to the school’s stage for their musical presentation. On stage, the kindergartners took turns sharing some of the academic lessons they learned throughout the year. Not only did they learn about letters, numbers and how to ask questions, they also learned about different parts of the world.
With help from their class teachers and music teacher Anthony Pino, the students sang “Everybody Smiles in the Same Language,” “Thank You,” “The World Is a Rainbow,” “This Land Is Your Land” and “What I Am.” They then recited the Kindergarten Poem for the finale. At the conclusion of the event, teachers, administrators and students honored kindergarten teacher Jane Duane. Mrs. Duane is retiring from the district this year, after more than 27 years of service. Congratulations!
