Clara H. Carlson Research for Robotics Competition

Fifth and sixth graders at Clara H. Carlson School have the opportunity to participate in the school’s Robotics Club. Led by co-advisers Deborah Buchanan and Robert Cavaliere, the club consists of one team of 10 students who compete in the First Lego League Robotics Competition. As part of the team, students take on the role of researcher, designer or coder and work together to build a Lego robot that can complete a task. This year’s task is titled City Shaper, where students are being asked to detect a problem a city may face and propose possible solutions to it. The team is in the research phase.
