Covert Avenue School invited its students to share traditions and cultures from their families during its Cultural Diversity Day celebration, held on Dec. 14.
Students highlighted their cultures through art and writing for this schoolwide project. The works depicted music, food and facts about places around the world. Additionally, many in-person learners came to school dressed in their native attire. Students also joined in on Zoom for a singalong of “We Are Many, We Are One.”
“Traditionally, we participate in a gathering that includes music and food, but we had to reinvent ourselves this year,” Principal Mary Natoli said. “It was still a great day!”
