Gotham Avenue Second Graders Participate in Virtual Interview

Second graders in Gotham Avenue School’s Project Based Learning Club, led by Ms. Parisi, have been researching and learning about designing a new business in the local community.

For this unit, the students conducted a virtual interview over Zoom with John Cesarano, the manager of King Umberto Restaurant in Elmont. Each student came up with a question that they were able to ask Mr. Cesarano, who discussed his background and work experience in the restaurant industry. Mr. Cesarano also gave insight on what it is like to be an entrepreneur and what it takes to run a successful business.

“The information collected during the interview enabled our students to learn firsthand about the path towards building a business,” Assistant Principal Robert Cavaliere said. “We can’t wait to see the great ideas our second graders have for our community!”
