Students and staff at Covert Avenue School wore shades of purple to commemorate P.S. I Love You Day. The event is held each year in February to send a message to stand up against bullying and help end depression.
This is the first year that Covert Avenue has participated in P.S. I Love You Day. The goal of honoring the day was to promote positive self-image and mental health awareness to the school community. Throughout the day, students participated in various activities, including creating kindness jars and kindness clouds. They also sent compliments to one another.
“We should always remember to be purple every day!” Principal Mary Natoli said. “Our school does not allow bullying, so we used P.S. I Love You Day as a way to support that message.”
