December 23, 2021

DearParents,Faculty and Staff of the Elmont Union Free School District,

Since the start of school opening in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we asked you to report COVID-19 cases to your school directly. We are now consolidating our reporting system to one at a district level. This new, consolidated reporting system will help ensure that all cases across our district are properly managed and contact tracing is conducted as efficiently as possible.

Perrotta Consulting LLC has been contracted by Elmont Union Free School District to help address challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and to conduct contact tracing. This firm currently works with several districts and schools in the nearby area managing COVID-19 quarantines and contact tracing. Moving forward, all COVID-19 related updates, questions, and concerns should be reported to COVID19@ELMONTSCHOOLS.ORG or (516) 434-2031. This includes reporting any positive cases in your household and potential or known exposures to COVID-19.

After reporting to this email or phone number, you will be contacted by Perrotta Consulting, on our behalf, who will work to answer your questions and provide guidance for your individual situations. Please note that this consulting firm will be working over the holiday and all cases should be called into the email or hotline noted above.

Please take some time to review the list of COVID-19 symptoms and consult with your family physician if you feel your child may be experiencing any symptoms or if they have been exposed to someone with symptoms. If your child has been tested for COVID-19, please keep him/her home, as well as any siblings while awaiting results. Symptoms of COVID-19 mirror many other common viruses and as such, we are asking for your cooperation in keeping your children home when they are not feeling well.

I recognize that many of us would like to move past discussions about COVID, but I feel I must respectfully request your continued diligence as we work through this latest surge.

Happy Holidays to you and your family. May the new year be filled with health and happiness for our beloved Elmont community.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Rosner

Superintendent of Schools
