 On Nov. 14, Dutch Broadway School’s fifth grade classes enjoyed an inspiring visit from a special guest: student Videsh Muneshwar, who is now a published author. A current senior at Elmont Memorial High School, Videsh recently published his children’s book, “Alex and the Wishing Well.” The book aims to help children explore their emotions, as Alex journeys through the forest of fears, the meadow of sadness and the volcanoes of anger. 

During his visit, Videsh spoke with the scholars about how writers generate ideas, develop a main character, and show that character’s growth through thoughts, feelings and actions. He also shared how he crafted dialogue and walked students through his editing and revision process. 

“We proudly welcome one of our own to inspire the next generation of learners and dreamers,” Principal Cynthia Qasim said.
