Covert Avenue School Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Music

The vibrant sounds of mariachi music filled the hallways of Covert Avenue School in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, observed annually from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
On Oct. 2, the school welcomed Mariachi de Corazón de México for a special cultural performance celebrating the rich traditions and heritage of Hispanic communities. The event was organized by school counselor Lymari Tattnall and the school’s PTA.
Students were immersed in the mariachi music as the group performed traditional Mexican favorites, including “La Cucaracha” and “La Bamba.” The interactive performance encouraged students to clap, sing along and engage with the music, creating a memorable experience that highlighted the importance of culture and tradition.
