Elmont Union Free School District

The district wide safety plan has been updated to include the new requirements for Desha’s law- effective September 1st, 2025. The building level emergency response plans in the Elmont UFSD have been updated to include policies and procedures for how to respond to a cardiac emergency as well as the CPR/AED trained individuals present in each building. The District wide safety plan attached includes a sample of the cardiac emergency response plan.

The Elmont UFSD Board of Education conducted a first reading of the 2025-2026 Districtwide Health and Safety Plan including the Desha’s Law Amendment during their regular meeting on December 9th. In accordance with Educational Law, the attached safety plan must be posted on the district website for a 30-day public review and comment period. The attached plan will be formally adopted by the Board of Education during their regular meeting on January 13, 2026, to meet the required compliance date for the Desha’s Law Amendment by January 20, 2026
