Dear Elmont School Family:
As we begin another school year, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire Elmont School community for the ongoing support and partnership that you have extended to us throughout this past year. It has been an honor to serve, to listen, to learn, and to begin building upon the strengths that make the Elmont District such a remarkable place to live, work and learn.
Over the past year, I had the opportunity to meet many of our students, families, teachers, staff members, and community leaders. Those interactions have helped shape my understanding of what makes Elmont so special. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication of our teachers, the curiosity and resilience of our scholars, and the unwavering commitment of families and community partners to support the success of every child.
Together, we have taken important steps to build on the district’s proud traditions while also looking to the future. Whether it was strengthening academic programs with the addition of new science and social studies resources, investing in student well-being with additional physical education classes, or expanding enrichment opportunities with our new STEAM and theatrical programs, our shared work this past year has laid the groundwork for continued progress. I am especially proud of the collaborative spirit that has defined our efforts. Your voices have guided our direction, and your input continues to be valued.
Please know that we are committed to our vision of providing a high-quality education for every student, every day. We will continue to prioritize instructional excellence, innovation, and a safe and nurturing learning environment. Our focus will remain on ensuring that all students are empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and that they are prepared to thrive in the classroom and beyond in a rapidly changing world.
I look forward to strengthening the relationships we have started to build, and I remain committed in my belief that working together, we can achieve extraordinary things for our scholars and our community. The Elmont School District is a place full of promise and possibilities, and I am more confident than ever in our collective ability to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
As always, my door remains open. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to share your thoughts, your questions, or your ideas. Thank you for your continued partnership, and for all you do to make Elmont such a wonderful place to live, learn, and grow.
Sincerely,
Marlon C. Small
